Hello you beautiful yogis, welcome back to my blog! 😀
If you’re very new to yoga and has been meddling with yoga videos on YouTube to find some inspiring yoga videos to follow, I’m pretty sure you’ve heard or stumbled across a YouTube channel called Yoga With Adriene.
Well I’ve been that person before, and today I wanna write on Yoga With Adriene review from a yoga beginner perspective 🙂
P/s: To know where I get my daily practice, check out my review on Alo Moves here too.
How To Follow Yoga With Adriene Practice
Yoga With Adriene YouTube channel usually produces 30 days yoga challenge – or a 30 days yoga series. Sometimes Adriene will use older videos to be in the 30 days series – nevertheless, it’s still a good yoga playlist for you to try out for 30 days if you’re still a beginner in yoga 🙂
You can also donwload her monthly yoga calendar on what video to follow each day. I personally did this, and it’s been working great. But at times, when I’m too lazy to find the pdf version of the calendar back, I’ll just follow the 30 days series sequence on YouTube.
That being said, I’d still recommend using the calendar that she had provided because sometimes the videos in the playlist can get a little mixed up 🙂
Is It Beginner Friendly?
The videos on the channel are extremely beginner friendly! One of the YouTube channels that keeps me coming back to yoga because they are very easy to follow and won’t overwhelm you when you’re just starting out.
She also always gives you the alternative poses when it comes to the asanas if you’re still a beginner, as well as alternative yoga props that you can utilize in order to get into the same poses, activating the same muscles.
Other than the normal practices that she uploads, there’s also a foundation series that she produced. I’d extremely recommend for you guys to check them out. She will go into the details on how certain poses supposed to be held and what muscles and sensations that we’re going to feel.
The foundation of yoga videos is by far the best and the very basic things that you need to know when starting your yoga journey. I found that sometimes, even when I go to a yoga studio for a class, some instructors won’t really really explain all this to you and it can actually lead you doing other wrong movements. That can lead to injury etc.
I’m aware that the foundation videos can be a bit long for one pose’s explanation, but trust me, it’s extremely good to have all those info before you move on to a full practice and more challenging poses 🙂
Changes I’ve Seen So Far…
Since the playlist of the yoga practice that she usually creates will have 30 videos in total, that means you will be doing yoga every single day – and if you’ve been following my blog for quite some time now, you know how I love to practice yoga every single day even if it’s just for 10 minutes! 🙂
If you stuck through the 30 days challenge and you consistently do the practice every single day, you will see a tremendous change for your body and mind – like I did! You’ll realize that your body is more agile and your mind becomes a lot sharper and more relaxed throughout the day.
Sometimes I do this in the morning for one month straight, and my days couldn’t be any better! I was in the mood to listen to inspiring podcasts every morning to work, and sharing any interesting infos with my colleague – life’s been simply amazing!
You will also see an incredible fluidity that suddenly takes over your body. I realized that I can get into splits a lot easier after. Even though there was no specific video on building up flexibility in the playlist, the overall practice will work onto the different parts of your body and you’ll feel it 🙂
As for my mental health, in almost each video that Adriene put up, she has never failed to remind us to love ourselves, to whisper good beautiful things to ourselves. And I feel like I became more appreciative and respectful towards myself too.
And I really want you guys to feel the same way too!
You Should Try For This Reason
You will never be bored of Adriene!
I keep coming back to her videos because of this, hands down! Sometimes you can hear and see her quirkiness but honestly, those are the things I really love about her videos 🙂
Instead of just giving us yoga instructions, she treated us the viewers like her friends who we can laugh and open up together with.
She will walk through everything, and practically says or sing anything that pops into her head. & sometimes or should I say most of the time, that’s just what we need after a long tiring day with a lot of superficiality in this world. We just need a little bit of fun and laughter. 🙂
Also, of course, you should try out her videos because of the fact that they are free and easily accessible everywhereeee 🙂
You can find a variety of her videos ranging from 40 to 5 minutes of yoga practice, so you can always choose.
Give It A Try
There are a lot of great yoga programs out there that will enable you to practice anywhere anytime. But if you’re still new and don’t really want to commit to anything yet, I would really recommend for you to try out some videos from Yoga With Adriene.
It can really help you to take the first step in your yoga journey.
If you’re a seasoned yogi, you can sometimes find her videos to be a bit too beginner-friendly. If I’m not mistaken, she does have a paid membership program where you can access more intermediate and advanced yoga videos. But I haven’t tried it yet. I usually go to Alo Moves when I need a little more push – I’ll do a review on Alo Moves soon!
However, if you’re a beginner, give it a try! It’s free and it’s going to inspire you to continue your yoga journey 🙂
If you have tried them, let me know what you think! & if you haven’t, will you give it a try? Let me know down below.
Till my next post, Namaste.
